Apple Pay Landing Page Goes Live on Apple’s Mexico Website, Suggesting Imminent Launch

Apple added an Apple Pay landing page to its regional Mexico website late on Tuesday, indicating the mobile payment system could launch in the country imminently.

Way back in March there were suggestions that Apple Pay could be coming to Mexico, after reports that some iPhone users in the country had been able to add their Banregio cards to the Wallet app, with only the verification process failing.

Cards from banks other than Banregio were not able to be added to the Wallet app on the ‌‌iPhone‌‌, suggesting ‌‌Apple Pay‌‌ in Mexico could be limited to Banregio at launch.

That’s still uncertain, since the ‌Apple Pay‌ page on Apple’s Mexican website offers no launch date and doesn’t list any banks that will integrate with the service. All it says is ‌Apple Pay‌ will be compatible with “credit and debit cards of the most important payment networks, issued by various banks,”

Covid-19 Live Updates: White House Embraces ‘Herd Immunity’ Declaration

Here’s what you need to know:

The White House has embraced a declaration by a group of scientists arguing that authorities should allow the coronavirus to spread among young healthy people while protecting the elderly and the vulnerable — an approach that would rely on arriving at “herd immunity” through infections rather than a vaccine.

Many experts say “herd immunity” — the point at which a disease stops spreading because nearly everyone in a population has contracted it — is still very far off. Leading experts have concluded, using different scientific methods, that about 85 to 90 percent of the American population is still susceptible to the coronavirus.

On a call convened Monday by the White House, two senior administration officials, both speaking anonymously because they were not authorized to give

Juice WRLD’s Mother Pens Open Letter, Launches Live Free 999 Website

This month marks ten months since Juice WRLD tragically passed away after a seizure at Chicago’s Midway Airport last December. His death shocked the entertainment world and once again stressed the importance of mental health. To coincide with Saturday’s World Mental Health Day, Juice WRLD’s mother, Carmela Wallace, penned an open letter that she shared with Complex, reflecting on her relationship with her son. She also announced the launch of the Live 999 website, with the goal of helping mothers navigate and aid the mental health issues from which their children may be suffering.

The announcement comes shortly after Live Free 999 donated a large number of musical instruments to Deer Creek Christian School, which made it possible for the school to have a fully-equipped orchestra. With the new website, Live Free 99’s goal is, as the website’s mission statement reads, to “support programs that provide preventative measures and positive

Website offers chance to ‘live under a rock’ during election week

Between a pandemic and the 2020 presidential election, life in a cave is looking more and more viable these days.

That’s the appeal of a new stay found on Hotels.com, where they’re offering visitors a chance to “live under a rock” during the first week of November as a respite from the world’s ills.

Between Nov. 2 and 7, escapists can take cover in a design-inspired cave, carved out 50 feet below ground in New Mexico.

It’s the perfect opportunity for “those who are experiencing election stress disorder (this is a real thing!),” according to their website. And five nights at the inn costs just $25 plus tax — an “Abraham Lincoln-inspired” rate fit for a president of the late 19th century.

“After you’ve cast your ballot, you can check out of the newsfeed negativity and check in to a man-made cave,” the website continues.

Watch live: Democrats introduce bill creating commission to rule on president’s fitness for office

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Congressman Jamie Raskin are introducing a bill on Friday to form a commission that would rule on the president’s fitness for office in order to “enable Congress to help ensure effective and uninterrupted leadership” in the presidency.

This panel, called the Commission on Presidential Capacity to Discharge the Powers and Duties of Office, would be “the body and process called for in the 25th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution,” Pelosi and Raskin’s offices said in a statement on Thursday.

At the conference press conference announcing the bill on Friday morning, Pelosi insisted that the bill was not intended to determine President Trump’s fitness of office.

“This is not about President Trump. He will face the judgment of voters. But he shows the need to create a process for future presidents,” Pelosi said.

The 25th Amendment provides the procedure for the vice president to take over

White House physician Sean Conley said in a memo Thursday that “I fully anticipate the president’s safe return to public engagements” on Saturday, based on the date he tested positive for the coronavirus and his response to treatment.

Conley did not provide any information about whether Trump has or will be tested for the virus. He said Trump’s physical example “has remained stable and devoid of any indications to suggest progression of illness.”

Conley’s estimation of Trump’s return to the public is a bit sooner than what the doctor had suggested on Monday.

“So we’re looking to this weekend, if
