A North Nashville store clerk was in critical condition after being shot Thursday when chaos broke out inside a market, Metro police said.

The incident began just before 5:40 p.m. at the Sunrise Market in the 2600 block of Clarksville Pike, a Metro Nashville dispatcher said.

As of late Thursday, police Capt. Jason Reinbold said officers are searching for three suspects in connection to the shooting that began after an unidentified female entered the store and caused a scene.

At one point, the female threw a bottle of water at the clerk, he said.

The clerk threw it back, Reinbold said, and ordered the female out of the market.

“She and her friends started tearing up the store and her boyfriend
