New LEGO store opens at Willowbrook Mall

The LEGO Group held a grand opening for its new store earlier this month at Willowbrook Mall in northwest Houston, its eighth location in Texas and third in the Houston area.

To celebrate the opening of the LEGO store, the company brought a mobile truck to locations around Houston to offer a sneak peak of what the location will bring.

Molly Martin, associate brand relations manager and public relations for The LEGO Group, said the grand opening of the Willowbrook Mall store went well. She said this was the first time they’ve introduced a LEGO truck to communities around new stores.

“We are super excited about having a new location here in Houston to bring LEGO bricks to the community and give the opportunity for LEGO fans to stop by the store and see our brick specialists who can help with finding whatever sets they like,” Martin said.

The store is located at Willowbrook Mall on the first level near Dick’s Sporting Goods. Martin said the project took about a year to complete.

“We are always looking to expand our locations across North America and were excited to bring to life a LEGO brand retail store to the Houston area,” Martin said.

The other two LEGO stores in Houston are located at The Woodlands Mall and the Galleria.

Martin said the new store will offer LEGO’s entire portfolio that can be found on LEGO.com, ranging from DUPLO sets for children ages zero to three, a four and older line for children who are ready to graduate from DUPLO bricks to system bricks, and then brick sets that are for five and older featuring LEGO Star Wars, LEGO Batman, LEGO Art, LEGO DOTs, LEGO Super Mario, Friends, CITY and Technic.

“All of our LEGO brand retail stores also feature some exclusive items like LEGO HP (Harry Potter) Diagon Alley, which you can only buy at our brick and mortar, and other exclusives that have a three-month period before moving on to mass retail,” Martin said.
