Casey’s is planning to open its first non-fuel convenience store in Des Moines’ Drake neighborhood.
The Ankeny-based company was given approval last week to re-zone 3121 Forest Ave. for a 3,400-square-foot convenience store without fuel sales. The approval will allow Casey’s to request a conditional use permit to sell alcohol there.
Katie Petru, director of communications for Casey’s, said plans are still in the works and the company does not have a firm timeline for building, nor can it share what will be sold at the new store.
