Woman Found Dead In McDonald’s Bathroom, Investigation Underway

Police have launched an investigation after a woman was found dead inside a bathroom at a McDonald’s restaurant in North Carolina.

Officers responded to the fast food restaurant in Huffman Mill Road, in Burlington, on Monday after the discovery was reported at around 3 p.m., according to local news station WFMY.

The woman is around 50 years old, rival station WXII reported, but no other details about her were immediately released.

The cause of death remains unknown, but according to Fox8, officers at the scene reported no signs of foul play nor any obvious signs of drug use.

The situation was described as medical, the station reported. The investigation is ongoing.

It is not clear if the woman’s death may have been linked to coronavirus, but Alamance and Guilford counties—where Burlington is located—have some of the highest numbers of infections in the state.
